There seems to be a recurring therapy theme in my posts, and I am quite happy to continue sharing with you my tried and true methods for lower stress and relaxation. Let’s take a few deep breaths and say ‘Yummmmmm…’
Today is Martin Luther King Day, which means that we are celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. King (hooray!) and that the kids have no school (booo!). It’s currently 4:56pm so I’ve survived 80% of the day, with the most difficult 20% left to go.
For the last hour I have been indulging in another of my favorite therapies – coloring. In the process of grinding several crayons down to nubs I realized that my husband is out of town and I will be getting the kids through dinner, baths and off to bed on my own. No sweat, right? Wrong. But my deep breathing and coloring have given me clarity so I will be simplifying tonight’s routine, starting with dinner. A simple meal of chicken, rice and carrots will suffice.
Especially now that Georgie is rubbing her watercolors on her shirt. Only two hours to go. Yummmmm…..
