A Funny Thing Happened On The…

…erm, well, not on the way to the Forum, but on the couch this afternoon.  I was working away on my computer while both kids were napping and my phone rang with a 917 number I didn’t recognize.  I admit, I swerved the call (not wanting to waste my precious 2 hours of naptime on a long-winded call with a telemarketer because I’m too polite to hang-up) and regretted that decision as soon as I listened to the voice mail.

The message was from a woman from the Rachael Ray Show!  Sadly, though, she was not calling to talk about Fleurt: she was calling in response to a topic submission (hand-me-downs) I provided last week.  I returned the call and we chatted for a bit.  Actually, she asked a few questions and I tried to be witty and amusing while telling her about my kids wearing hand-me-downs.

She was kind and said that I have a ‘great personality’ (a nice thing to hear after being abused by my children for the past week during their fall break).  No promises on a show on the topic of hand-me-downs, but if there ever is, we’ll be on the short list for a call – I think.

As soon as we hung-up I had a Homer Simpson moment.  Doh!  I couldn’t believe I didn’t mention Fleurt.  Talked about a missed opportunity!  A few hours later, long after naptime ended, I realized I HAD to call.  I had to at least leave her a message while my name was still relatively fresh in her mind.  So I did just that…one voice mail and (gasp!) a slightly stalker-ish email later and I feel better about the situation.

Of course, I would feel a lot better if I heard back from her.  Will keep you posted.

About Fleurt Butter

Butter's been given a bad rap over the years and I'm on a mission to make butter sexy again; to take delicious, flavorful, colorful, sensuous butter. I am not a chef; I blush when I refer to myself as a 'cook' because that seems too generous. Sometimes I turn out dishes that I am incredibly proud of, often times I'm just pleased to get something on the table without burning the house down. The idea behind Fleurt is that using it in meal preparation enables me to put fabulous food on the table in front of my family and friends with a minimum risk of botching the job! I should warn you that I can not be held responsible for all grammatical errors and general rambling...I might be undergoing 'therapy' as I write (see my 1st post). I'm writing these posts and cringing as I do so. I've yet to be convinced that people actually want to read what I write, but I am hopeful that the recipes I post are used and enjoyed. I certainly have fun testing them and finding ways to bring Fleurt into my daily life!
